emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Israa Suliman

Israa, 21, is an English literature graduate from the Islamic University of Gaza. She is crazy about three things: cats, the Gaza sea and writing. "We should get drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy us," she says. Influenced by the stories of Freedom Writers and Anne Frank, Israa clings hard to her pen, believing in the power of words to promote change. In addition to her passion for writing, she loves music and she dreams of being a violinist one day.
