emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Abubaker Abed

I am Abubaker from Deir El-Balah refugee camp where I have moments of both extreme pleasure and sadness. I am a  writer with a sheer passion for making our world and Palestine a better place. I look forward to constantly learning, facing new challenges and helping end the calamity of the blockade of Gaza, with a dream on the horizon. A massive fan of football, especially English football, which plays a big role in my life, I would put all my efforts into moving the Palestinian football community to the international level. Raising up the Palestinian football community is the definition of hope in my own dictionary.

    my work

When the Chelsea soccer club chose sides with Israel in its war on Gaza, it broke the heart of a young Gazan fan.
If players can display their support for LGBT rights and Ukraine, they should show their support for Palestine, too.
Israel’s blockade is keeping Gazan fans out of the Qatar World Cup.
A teacher changed my life and spread a beautiful scent after he had burnt himself out over many years.
