Remembering Samar
“I wish I were that drowning sun,” / you told me, / “tightly embracing the horizon, / flying into the abyss of freedom.”
Qasem Waleed El-Farra is a physicist who is not only interpreting nature by using numbers and symbols but also by words that vividly describe the nature and reality of Palestine. He has experienced 100+ days of major wars on Gaza. “This is an experience that drives me to voice my words and tell the world my side of the story,” he says.
“I wish I were that drowning sun,” / you told me, / “tightly embracing the horizon, / flying into the abyss of freedom.”
The ashes on the backyard flower/Makes a puzzle only a Gazan/Could easily figure.
My development from an innocent child to a grown man has occurred side by side with wars.
