emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

The eyes of Ahed

This painting is of Ahed Tamimi, but it is dedicated to all who are imprisoned with her.

This painting is my tribute to Ahed Tamimi, but it is dedicated to the more than 6,000 Palestinians (including 350 minors) who have been violently separated from their families and friends by the occupation forces and confined to Israeli prisons. This painting is in solidarity with every Palestinian trapped in prison, whose stories are told through the eyes of Ahed. It is never a crime to defend your home; it is never a crime to stand up for what is right. Ahed has become the world’s most powerful symbol of human rights for everyone—a slap in defiance of the monstrous system.
