In partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Leiden University is staging a historical exhibition at Al-Muthaf Hotel in Gaza City. The exhibition showcases a number of manuscripts and scrolls from the Arab world, Persia and the Ottoman Empire in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the study of Oriental languages and cultures.
The exhibition provides attendees with a window to a prosperous past, showing the contribution of the region to the world's science, culture and art, something that is usually–intentionally or otherwise–neglected.
The exhibition is open to the public until the end of February.
