Reasons to be grateful

When I am depressed, I count my blessings.

Throughout my journey
I experience
a multitude of moments
of tears and anguish.
Yet what is a journey
without that?
I take a breath,
put on my headphones,
play my music:
balm for a broken soul.

Pink, like you say,
it hurts to be human.
But I've got you (or at least your music).
My mom and family:
I've got you.
My Palestinian friends:
I've got you.
My foreign friends,
Pam, Kevin and so many others:
I've got you.
The We Are Not Numbers team:
I've got you.
Every reader who makes an effort
to know me more,
to touch my soul
with a word of support,
I’ve got you.
You make my voice louder.

Where I live,
there is much pain,
but there is also beauty.
Isolation mixes
with pride and hope.
I love you all.
