The extraordinary collection, “WE ARE NOT NUMBERS: The Voices of Gaza’s Youth” gathers a decade of writing—2014 to 2024—from young Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank, and Diaspora. Through essays and poems, these writers take us beyond the news cycle and into the heart of what it means to live, lose, and keep telling your story under siege and occupation, and in exile.
Curated by WANN co-founders Ahmed Alnaouq and Pam Bailey, the essays in this collection are not just reflections on occupation. They’re records of memory, family, exile, friendship, resistance, and hope—raw and unfiltered.
The European edition is published by Hutchinson Heinemann, a literary imprint of Penguin Books UK.
