Politicians’ cries
justice a veil,
Tongues stained with innocent blood
truth is frail.
They preach human rights
yet definitions vary,
Identities sway
who’s worthy, who’s contrary?
“Show me your ID please
Oh Gazan, I see,
If not human
why crave rights with our plea?”
Children in Gaza fall
to war’s cruel hand,
Daily toll, a heartbreak
no words to understand.
“One Israeli slain,”
headlines flare,
Holocaust’s shadow!
the repeating nightmare.
Cheap justice and cowardice
in power’s sway,
Labelled a terrorist
dissent’s price to pay.
On global stage
speeches laced with sorrow,
Behind closed doors
arms for morrow.
Tainted world
hypocrisy in every clime,
Above a bountiful table
below, corruption’s grime.
“Free Palestine!”
chants rise in the air,
Post-protest, Starbucks,
no one seems to care.
Articles penned
“Tears for Gaza’s Plight,”
TV off, dinner served
out of sight.
Corruption spreads
its tendrils deep,
Hypocrisy the only promise
politicians keep.
Truths and lies
entwined in the dance,
Political correctness
just a chance.
“My political correctness,”
they claim with pride,
Injustice lingers
the truth they hide.
Will the world dare
to end this war?
Feel Gaza’s pain
like never before?
Why you pose
this age-old query?
politicians’ conscience
asleep and weary.
Thousands dead
their interest at heart,
Even millions
a small cost to depart.
Even those with
shreds of humanity,
Fear the labels
anti-Semitic calamity.
Mouths sealed tight
spectating the game,
Preserving their thrones
silent and tame.
Will this pass unnoticed
remain unseen?
Do these brutal killers think
their slate clean?
When divine justice
finally rings its bell,
Will political cloaks
fend off hell?
In this life or beyond
justice shall be,
None saved from its decree
none set free.
The blood of the fallen
will surge and flow,
Politicians’ luxury ships
destined to woe.
Fires of the oppressed
a raging blaze,
Consuming their palaces
in a fiery daze.
Thrones erected
on innocent graves,
A curse upon them
relentless waves.
They’ll deny their roles
evade responsibility’s call,
Fleeing, to where?
Fate’s inevitable thrall.
Gaza cries unheard
conscience of humanity asleep,
Silently witnessing
children’s shattered keep.
Their blood on your hands
dark destinies writ,
A haunting legacy
where remorse should never quit.
For all evil deeds
await the darkness sown,
Divine justice
the reaping is known.
