Occupation, don’t be proud, I am Palestine
Since 1948 you have punished me
You kill my children, my young, my old
You detain, and murder and forget there is a Lord
In the sky, above you, above my land, above us all
God sees the crimes that you hide
God sees the rivers of pure blood
God sees everything
Countries support your actions
And my response is my hands raised in prayer
You say you want a land for Ibrahim and his descendants
You mean yourself, yourself defeated
You kill and terrify with brutal bombing, shooting sounds
BOVV, IZZZ and TIKK
With your helicopters, quadcopters and threats from the sky
With me there is only God
Do what you want
But for me and for Palestinians
Your denial is our peace
Your suffocation is our breath
Your fear is our victory
You are trying so hard to own me
But every time with pride, strength and courage
I confirm, I am Muslim and say, ‘Noli me tangere’*
You face us every time you attack
We are fighting you with stones
But you send missiles
Occupation don’t be proud
Palestine belongs to me
*‘Noli me tangere’ is a Latin phrase that means don’t touch me. Jesus spoke these words to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection.
