We Are Not Numbers (WANN) is seeking a full-time remote Social Media Officer preferably based in UK/Europe. This staff member will work under the guidance and direct supervision of WANN’s management team.
About us
WANN was founded in 2015 under the umbrella of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in the Gaza Strip. Our mission is to tell the human stories behind the numbers in the news by pairing emerging Palestinian writers ages 18-30 with native English writers around the world. Mentors help writers develop their theme and topic, shape their narrative, and refine their writing so that they connect with Western audiences. We care about decolonizing and reclaiming the stories of Palestine and individual Palestinians through our journeys with our writers.

Main responsibilities
- Develop and implement WANN’s social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube
- Create engaging digital content, including graphics, reels, short-form videos, and campaigns that align with WANN’s mission and visual identity
- Manage day-to-day social media operations, including scheduling, publishing, and audience engagement
- Produce and edit videos for campaigns, stories, advocacy initiatives, and fundraising efforts
- Design social media visuals, promotional materials, and campaign assets using professional design tools
- Monitor social media analytics and prepare monthly performance reports and recommendations
- Coordinate digital advocacy and awareness campaigns related to Palestine and humanitarian issues
Job requirements
- At least 2–3 years of professional experience in running social media accounts
- Strong background in NGOs, humanitarian organizations, advocacy campaigns, or media institutions
- Demonstrated experience in design and video editing
- Experience running successful social media campaigns and managing digital communities
- Strong understanding of Palestinian political realities and the representation of Palestine in Western media
- Native-level English proficiency

- Passionate about Palestine, storytelling, and digital advocacy
- Able to work collaboratively with an international and remote team
- Flexible; willing to put in occasional off-hours work to coordinate with teams in Gaza and across different time zones
