emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Pam Kirby

Pam has taught ESL to adults and in public elementary schools, worked as a freelance editor and proofreader, and revels in all forms of wordsmithing. Currently, she is project coordinator for a nonprofit organization in Richmond, Virginia, focused on the wellbeing and education of children from birth to age 5.

As a member of the reading panel for the Trans Anthology Project, she selected and edited submissions for a collection of personal essays and poems from trans youth and the adults that love them. She strongly believes that sharing the stories of our lived experiences is the purest form of connection, healing, and empathy. And the most motivating call to action.

Pam’s passion for world travel and exploring other cultures was cultivated during her childhood living in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Israel. She clearly remembers her family’s trips to Gaza, where she and her sisters frolicked on the beaches. She holds hope that one day carefree children will play on those shores again.
