Liz Holzman

    Liz Holzman has a lifelong interest in leftwing politics and social justice and spent her first 10 professional years working as a social worker in the Detroit area.  For many years, she worked as a research administrator at the University of Michigan, managing programs and research projects in academic medicine. Liz also spent 6 years as the executive director for the University Renal Research and Education Association, a nonprofit research group, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    After moving to Philadelphia in 2010, Liz worked in research administration and department management for neurology at Thomas Jefferson University and was a senior grant writer at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has extensive experience as a freelance grant writer, contributing to proposals for a variety of organizations, including the Philadelphia Film Society, the Exoneration Initiative, and the University of Pennsylvania.

    Now retired, Liz spends her time lobbying in Congress with CODEPINK, a feminist anti-war organization. She is also a tax aide with the IRS Volunteer for Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Liz loves to cook, read, bike, and hang out with her family which now includes four granddaughters.
