Katherine Schneider is an ESL teacher and poet living in Norwalk, Connecticut. She attended Fairfield University for her bachelor’s degree and was part of the inaugural cohort for its Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program, concentrating in poetry. While working in audiobook publishing, she also completed a master of arts in TESOL from the University of Southern California, which enabled her to transition from publishing to the world of teaching and advocating for adult ESL students. While teaching, she has continued to write poetry. Her poems have appeared in Ruminate, Blue Line, The Poetry Porch and The Paddock Review, and she was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her first book of poetry, “I Used to Remember the Story of How,” is available from Finishing Line Press.

In the midst of work and writing, Katherine began avidly studying the Arabic language and the various countries of the Arab world, most especially Palestine. She is a passionate advocate for Palestinian human rights.
