Gail Blackhall earned her degree in English literature at Brown University. She spent her entire career in book publishing, at Viking Penguin and Random House, among others, working closely with authors and international publishers. She has tutored in English as a Second Language and continues to edit memoirs, essays, and personal narratives.

Gail has traveled extensively for work and pleasure, exploring cultures worldwide. Her other interests include languages and literature, nature, music, and human rights.
