Ban Al-Wardi is a California-based attorney practicing in the field of immigration law since 1999.  She represents refugees and asylum seekers from around the world and advocates for human rights through her private practice and legal justice organizations. Born to Iraqi immigrants, Ban has traveled extensively throughout the Arab world, including several fact-finding trips to Palestine. She served as the Chair for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion National Committee for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and previously served as Los Angeles Chapter President and elected National Board member for the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC).  She was awarded the Voices of Courage Award for the Public’s Truth Campaign, and received Special Congressional recognition for her human rights work. Ban is thrilled to lift up the voices of Palestinians as a writing mentor through the We Are Not Numbers campaign.
