For Adiel Suarez-Murias, love of language and storytelling have driven her professional work and passion projects. Based in the Washington, DC, area, she currently serves as board communications director for Urban Refugees and was formerly the communications & development manager for the Alliance for Peacebuilding. Her work is informed by a rich background in communication and narrative from her graduate work in the field at Wake Forest University.
Adiel’s passion projects include working closely with The Sanctuaries, a community-based social justice and arts organization in Washington, DC, and co-leading a local women’s circle. When she’s not working on freelance editing and writing projects or tutoring students in communication, she enjoys spending her free moments in the sunshine, doing yoga and reading. She loves poetry, comedy, stories and people.
