Michelle Lerner
Michelle Lerner was a public interest lawyer in the United States for almost two decades, representing women and children experiencing poverty, disabilities and violence. She has degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School, as well as an MFA in Poetry from The New School. She has published multiple articles and essays on legal and social justice issues. In addition Michelle wrote a novel that has been a finalist for several fiction awards and has a poetry chapbook, Protection, coming out in June, 2021. Her poems have also appeared in print and online journals. Michelle is a supporter of Palestinian rights and has been an active member of the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, the Rebuilding Alliance and Jewish Voice for Peace. She believes that Jewish Americans like herself have a special responsibility to speak out against Zionism and Israeli human rights abuses and land theft.
