My passion for writing, bound with my feelings of responsibility, led me to We Are Not Numbers. I am an English graduate from the Islamic University of Gaza. I was named Sarah after my grandma who has always told me admirable narratives about her original town, El-Ramla. Aged as she is, she has shared with my siblings and me memories that were full of blessings and joy before she became a refugee. I grew up in Gaza but I hope to return to El-Ramla and also hope to go between our cities without any restrictions or impediments.
To me, writing is a tool of resistance in which I find peace and tranquility and a means to escape the complex situation of Gaza. My ambitions exceed my possibilities in Gaza. I wish to travel to the United Kingdom to get a master's degree in linguistics. So, here I am in the journey of flourishing until my wishes can be carried out!
