Louisa Waugh

Louisa is a human rights advocate and writer who works in peacebuilding with international humanitarian organizations. She lived and worked in Palestine from 2007-2009: her book about life inside the  Gaza Strip - "Meet me in Gaza" - is published by Saqi books. Louisa is a regular contributor to the New Internationalist magazine, and has a website, the-waugh-zone.org, where she blogs about unreported stories of resilience, travel and peacebuilding, plus quirky observations about alternate pop culture! She recently finished managing a peacebuilding project in the Central African Republic, is currently volunteering on a Greek island with refugees from Syria and Iraq, and stays in regular contact with friends and ex-colleagues from Gaza. She loves dancing, yoga, red wine, traveling by motorbike and Middle Eastern literature. And she speaks Arabic!
