Catherine Baker

Catherine is a career writer and editor with many published print and web articles on science, health, and education topics. She is also a writer of fiction. She has taught adult literacy and classes for the GED (the high school equivalency diploma). She is a member of the Washington,DC-based running group Iqraa (Arabic for read), which raises funds for college scholarships that are awarded to Palestinians attending college or university in the West Bank and Gaza. She has run nine Marine Corps marathons, the Boston Marathon and DC’s Gaza 5K wearing an Iqraa T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan, “Running for a Brighter Palestine.” Catherine is a member of the advisory board for the Palestine Poster Project Archives, an online repository of more than 16,000 posters related to Palestine created by artists from around the world, and she is on the steering committee of Voices from the Holy Land, which hosts online film salons.
