Maisoon Bashir

Maisoon, 23, describes herself as “a simple Palestinian girl, a freelance translator, a journalist and a human rights activist.” She studied English translation at Gaza University, and loves photography because she believes that “pictures talk.” Her father, who passed away five years ago, taught Maisoon to always look to the future and avoid “being distracted by the painful present.” She says, “The people of Gaza have dreams and high hopes for the future just like me, and I want to teach the world about the values and principles that I learned in Gaza, in my school and in my house.”
