Sondos Alqaderi, 20, is an English literature junior at Al-Azhar University. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, she is both Canadian and Palestinian. She has lived in Gaza for most of her teenage years to practice her Arabic and learn about family, culture and history. Her fields of interest are psychology, world religions, the philosophy of life, sociology and human rights. She says she got into creative writing when she was a freshman in high school and wrote her first poem. People liked it, so she started a blog. Sondos is good at public speaking and influencing people through the spoken word. She likes reading, healthy diets, chocolate and the Black Panthers.
