Shams Mazen Rajab has a bachelor’s degree in English language and teaching methodologies from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza. She has worked as a tutor for Tawjihi (secondary school final exams) students in Deir Al-Balah and as a freelance translator and writer.

“My goal is to use writing to address important social and human rights issues and contribute to giving a voice to those who need representation in the media,” she says. “I hope to learn from the experience of mentors and colleagues in the program to enhance my skills and broaden my literary and writing horizons.”
