Sana Saleh is a Palestinian artist and design student from Gaza, currently based in Egypt after surviving the ongoing genocide.

She was born and raised in the Jabalia refugee camp, an environment marked by overcrowding, destruction, and resilience, all interwoven into daily life. In the midst of such reality, art became Sana’s initial refuge, a space where identity was reclaimed, and resistance took root.

Through painting and writing, she offers a form of testimony: personal, political, and profoundly rooted in the ongoing genocide unfolding in her beloved Gaza, Sana says “my work seeks to comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comfortable.”

Current as of August 2025

The last thread…

Alone / I walk among the rubble of what was once our neighborhood / past the graves of memories and loved ones.

No longer exists

Grief crept into me / seeping deep into my heart / into every corner of my being.

The birth

Between hunger and suffering, a furious rage was born / It scorched my soul, burning through every part of my being.
