Rahaf Abuzarifa
Rahaf Abuzarifa, a student of computer science at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, found her educational journey abruptly halted in 2023 when her university was bombed during the ongoing war in Gaza. Despite the turmoil, Rahaf sees writing as a beacon of self-expression amidst chaos.
“I consider writing as an art form that can help us explore self-expression,” she asserts. “Writing serves as a versatile tool for self-expression, information sharing, communication with friends, academic endeavors, professional work, and beyond. I aspire to refine my writing skills to effectively convey my stories and ideas.” In the midst of war, Rahaf finds empowerment in writing. She reflects, “Writing has provided me solace during this war, enabling me to express my emotions, fears, and hopes on paper.”
Previously, Rahaf was eager to explore various interests, including entrepreneurship, programming, and designing. However, the ongoing conflict has forced her to prioritize survival above all else. Despite this, she maintains her aspirations to travel the world, immerse herself in different cultures, and document her experiences through writing.
