emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Omar Eid

  • Gaza Strip

Omar Eid is a writer and administrator from Gaza. He found refuge in writing when the homeland was stolen, and meaning in words when everything else lost its meaning.

He has moved through many phases of life—from offices to the streets, from administration to the simple details of life under bombardment.

“I do not believe in perfection, but in honesty,” he says. “That’s why my writing seeks to tell what is real, human, and inspiring—because some stories are not born of imagination, but of experience, patience, and endurance.

“As they say, hope is born from the womb of suffering—and so it is.”
