Mohammed Basem Abu Qamar is a Palestinian writer and storyteller from Gaza. He studies medicine, a field he’s genuinely passionate about, at Al-Azhar University.

His path with writing started through the Access Microscholarship, an English language program that helped him build his language and writing skills, and where he also took part in volunteer activities.

What Mohammed hopes for most is the chance to study medicine at a well-regarded university abroad, and to keep writing along the way — for him, writing is a way to speak the truth of Gaza, and a quiet form of resistance.
