emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Haya Abdullah Ahmed

Haya, 22, lives in the Tal-Elzaatar neighborhood of northern Gaza City and is an English literature graduate from the Islamic University of Gaza. She loves translation as well as writing. She dreams of finding a job in which she can find satisfaction and even passion. Although Haya studied English, her tendency still is to express herself in Arabic. Thus, she joined We Are Not Numbers to "be inspired by that motivating atmosphere and learn to express my internal thoughts and feelings in English."

    my work

Many people in Gaza suffer from depression and fear, yet are too afraid to seek hep or support. It's time to own our inner child.
I want to appreciate my life for its sweet, simple blessings. But I will never forget my dreams.
What would you do if you were offered a chance to see your future life and choose whether to go on or stop?
