Hala Shoman

    Hala Shoman is a PhD researcher in sociology and politics in the United Kingdom. She originally practiced dentistry but, driven by a deep commitment to social and political justice, she made a career shift due to the political situation in Palestine.

    As an activist from Gaza, Hala has been at the forefront of a successful campaign against domestic violence, working closely with both community members and government officials to drive cultural and legal changes in Gaza.

    Since 2012, Hala has dedicated herself to volunteering in various fields, including youth empowerment, health, and gender-based violence. During the Great March of Return, she served as a volunteer paramedic and surgical assistant, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her community. Hala envisions a future free from occupation, discrimination, and injustice.
