Farida Algoul is an English teacher and interpreter, embodying resilience and passion in every facet of her work. Originally from Hirbia, her journey began when her family was displaced to Gaza in 1967, a place she now proudly calls home.
Farida was an ambitious professional before the war, thriving as a teacher and interpreter at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the Canadian Red Cross (CRC), and the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution (PCDCR). Additionally, she founded the Follow Me Academy, where she teaches English to all age groups, both children and adults.
“My involvement in human rights advocacy and numerous leadership programs has further shaped me as a formidable voice for change,” Farida says. “I use the English language not just as a medium of instruction but also as a powerful tool to convey my ideas and aspirations to the world.
“Working with international and local organizations as a coordinator and activist has enriched my approach to education and advocacy. Writing has become an integral part of my identity, allowing me to connect with a global audience and share my unique perspective and experiences.”
