Esmat is a graduate in biology education from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza. She sees herself a young female leader: "I am the voice of the change I want to see in my society and within me!" she says. Esmat volunteers with grassroots organizations and networks in the fields of women’s rights, youth participation and leadership, and education.
