“Since writing is my available means of resistance, I picked my pen up and started telling the stories of the oppressed to the world!”

Dina Suhail Al-Ejil, originally from the northern Gaza Strip, is an English literature and translation from the Islamic University of Gaza, graduating only one month before the genocide broke out. She is currently studying for a diploma in English teaching methods. She works as a translator and content writer for an independent local institution.

“Reading and writing are my comfort zone,” she says. “I can see half of the world in reading and the other half in writing. My professors in the university tirelessly paved for us the way to become dedicated and talented in our post-graduation life. I’ve gained many trainings that raised my awareness and enriched my language skills.

“Being a writer in We Are Not Numbers and other institutions concerned about human rights is such an incredible opportunity to leave an impact in this grim world.”
