Deema Fayyad was born and raised in Khan Younis, Gaza. She was forcibly displaced to Deir Al-Balah as a result of the latest assault. She longs for her home in Khan Younis, yet she cannot return, as there is no longer a home for her.

Deema is an Access alumna and a current member of the Kuffiya group, serving the Palestinian cause. Earlier this year, she entered her fourth year as an English translation major at the Islamic University. Taking inspiration from her professor, Dr. Refaat Alareer, she turned to writing to bring the voices of Gaza to the world.
