emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Batoul Mohamed Hassan Abou Ali

Batoul Mohamed Hassan Abou Ali is a young Gazan woman who studied English education and graduated from the Islamic University on August 14, 2023. Batoul is in love with writing about her home of Palestine, especially Gaza. Through the power and magic of writing, she feels she can express the beautiful nature of Palestine and Palestinian lives as well as represent the oppression and injustice her people must endure under occupation.

Batoul especially enjoys reading English stories and literature or gazing at Gaza’s aesthetic sky and the ever-changing sea. Batoul also loves walking, teaching, reading, and capturing everything around her for memories.

Batoul currently lives in Al-Nasser. She adores the vibrancy of its streets and bright mornings, though she misses the lovely mornings and evenings of Gaza since it’s under occupation. Although these moments are the most miserable ones, Batoul is able to write poems that reflect Palestinians’ and Gazans’ voices.
