Batool Abu Akleen is a Palestinian poet and painter. In 2020, at age 15, she was awarded the Barjeel Prize for her poem, “‘I didn’t steal the cloud.” Her work is featured in the anthology Of Water and Time and in various exhibitions in Europe and the West Bank. One of the top students in English Language and Literature at the Islamic University of Gaza,  she was displaced during the aftermath of  October 7, 2023, but has been able to continue writing and sharing her poems and stories.
