emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Akram Abunahla

Akram is a graduate in English language and literature who is studying for a master’s degree in applied linguistics. As a young, energetic Muslim, he is inspired by the works of Seyyed Hossein Nasr and Sami Yusuf. In an age of modernity, his ultimate goal is to teach others about the just Palestinian cause and different facets of traditional Islam. He believes that extremism in Islam is modern and thus a reason to be wary. Akram also believes that embracing our differences is the starting point for a lasting peace. He dreams one day he will be able to write books to convey a profound sense of the Sacred, the same essential spiritual truth shared by all world traditions.
