emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Ahmed Mushtaha

  • Gaza Strip

Ahmed Mushtaha lives in Gaza. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mobile application design and programming at University College of Applied Sciences.

Ahmed completed five levels of the Cambridge English language program at the Peace Education Group. He graduated from high school in 2007, during the war to politically control Gaza. Becoming a young adult and graduating at this time of great change in Gaza shaped him and led him to choose his current academic path.

Ahmed views learning as a gateway to building a different future and technology as a space through which he can create a safe world, far removed from the reality of the siege. “I write to preserve the memory of place and resist oblivion,” he says. “I believe that words—along with knowledge—are capable of protecting the Palestinian narrative and conveying Gaza’s voice to the world.”
