Ahmad Sultan Wuhidi
“Passion is about doing what you love. Dedication is perseverance and hard work. Add them together = full success!” — Brooke Griffin. That is my motto in this life.
I am Ahmad Sultan Wuhidi, an English literature and translation student at the Islamic University in the Gaza Strip. I commenced my journey at the university with high determination. If I learned the self-study techniques, it would take me to the top of the list to meet my goals. Consequently, I invested all the time to improve my skills by looking for courses on important websites until I got a volunteer opportunity on a large team comprised of translators and journalists. The objectives of this team were to enhance the awareness of the communities to the dangers of the COVID-19. I translated most of the breaking news from Arabic to English and vice versa; I wrote reports and content to make awareness videos. After that, I picked a chance to join an online international educational, cultural exchange program by American monitors. I volunteered to introduce an educational presentation. So, I assisted learners with significant points and in turning their negative perceptions into positive ones. I have taken part in the first initiative of its kind in the Arab world ever, as a translator, translating the “Environmental Science” book by the American author, Richard T. Wright.
This year, I was awarded an academic exchange program with Glasgow University. I was studying courses related to international law and human rights to help my people in Palestine. I also finished a-one month of training from Ohio University in the United States entitled, Tourism Professionals MOOC 2021.
Since writing is the best way to escape from the disturbance without being interrupted, I joined We Are Not Numbers. I’ve done this to improve the style of writing stories as I want to be a seasoned author and to be able to express externally the words inside my ribs. My devotion is to write humanitarian stories and success stories. In this life, the mother of battles, we confront a lot of rogue winds to reach the survival spot, meeting our goals. Finally, don’t forget that by mixing passion and dedication, undeniably you will fulfill your dreams.
