emerging writers from Palestine tell their stories and advocate for their human rights

Afaf Alnajjar

Hello there, human! My name is Afaf, but I go by Winnie (yes, Winnie the Pooh). I'm an English literature student at Al-Aqsa university, Gaza. I'm fond of music, novels, writing and—oh yes—Palestine. My best friend and role model is my mother, who raised me to be the strong girl I am today. I try to leave a little spark and a lot of love wherever I go.

I have learned that war brings not just loss itself, but also a preoccupation with losses that could occur.
I learned from Winnie the Pooh that life is better with a friend.
I long for Jerusalem, the place I call home but am not allowed to visit.
