A ghostly city, devoid of life,
Like scenes from the movies, full of strife.
Houses empty, devoid of souls,
The scent of death as silence unfolds.
The city’s sky, once blue and bright,
Now shrouded in darkness, a haunting sight,
Nature’s green turned black by war,
The harmony of life is no more.
Streets once bustling, now oceans of red,
Blood-soaked waves, where the living tread.
The earth drinks deep of martyr’s blood,
As graves close in sorrow, a silent flood.
In the city’s darkness, night’s grim veil,
The light of our lost ones never fails.
In our dark nights, they shine like stars,
Guiding us through the battle scars.
Each day a journey through the unknown,
Trapped in death’s grip, we’re not alone.
How can we fear fear, after all we’ve seen?
In this world so cruel, so obscene.
There is no safety in this world so bleak.
In all the horror, what solace to seek?
Fear itself must tremble at our plight,
A living nightmare, no end in sight.
Yet, feeling hope’s distant glow,
And the pain that grips us, far below,
We persist somehow and survive
In a world where pain and struggle thrive.
