New class of Gaza writers accepted

The new class of We Are Not Numbers writers at a recent workshop

A new "class" of 21 We Are Not Numbers writers has begun orientation in Gaza, and will be assigned to their first mentors in late February.

More than 50 writers applied, and we continue to receive applications. Thus, a wating list will be kept to fill openings as we recruit new mentors.

Among the topics covered in their orientation worshops are the importance of "show don't tell" when writing stories, the strategic use of social media to spread their work and how to tell their stories in ways that Western audiences can best relate.
