Anas, 21, is a fourth-year student at Al-Azhar University, where he is majoring in English literature. Anas also is an active member of the American Corner, which holds discussions, presentations and dialogues related to the Palestinian cause. Academically, he is interested in writing, specifically news, poetry and short stories. He’d like his career to revolve around writing, which he fondly calls “the art of words” since he believes in their power to induce change. In his spare time, Anas enjoys spending time with his friends as well as fishing – a sport that allows him to get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer. “It’s also a way to get away from life, worries and anxiety,” he explains.
