Rana Zareef

Rana, 19, is a biology (pre-med) student at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. She has lived in Lebanon her entire life, currently in Beirut's Mar Elias camp. Rana describes herself as "an ambitious person who has many goals: to be a doctor and later to have my own hospital, to provide needed health care to Palestinian refugees, to help eliminate the social gap between people... and many other really big dreams! I believe that through determination I’ll achieve all of them." Rana works as a private tutor for biology, physics and chemistry, and volunteers at Jamaat Ibad Al Rahman, a philanthropic association. She was a Girl Scout for five years. Rana spends her spare time reading psychology and history books, consuming fiction (especially horror stories), writing her own short stories and drawing.
